Tablebox Vs Chart[straight table]

Is it possible to filter the records in a tablebox, or do i have to use a chart?

I want the table to only show records for open calls, even though the current selections may include both open and closed calls.

It's not possible unless one of the fields is null for closed calls (or you could force one of the fields to be null in the script).

In that case you could use the "omit rows where field is null" in the presentation tab.
