calculated fields in a scripts

Hi,

I want to calculate some fields in  the editor scripts, this fields are derivated from source fileds of input files.

I have some calculations in which I use source filed of two input files.

I am using joins table to create this field.

Is there any other way to calculate a field not uding joins?
