In-app reporting challenge - Migrating a Qlik NPrinting report

I'm facing an issue re-creating a report in Qlik cloud when migrating from Qlik Enterprise edition which uses Qlik NPrinting.
While I'm aware re-creating an NPrinting report as it is using In-app reporting may not be possible, the ask I have here seems like a reasonable one.
Problem statement:

In NPrinting, we were able to generate reports for YearMonth for the last 9 months while YearMonth field contains values from 2020 onwards.
While trying to re-create the report using In-app reporting, it gives me an option to select the field YearMonth but no where can I see an option to limit the output to just 9 months. Currently, the output gives me all the Year-Months report from 2020 onwards.
Created a Date field for 9 months and used that field instead of the actual YearMonth.
The issue with the solution is that one of the expression in my table is calculating values for 'Same month, Last Year'. Now, the Date field I created will only have 9 months of data so when it says last year there is no value against it and the calculation breaks.
What am I missing here? There is very little documentation or help from online as a whole in this regard.
Any solutions or suggestions are much appreciated.
