Snowflake Key Pair Auth via Encrypted P8 File No Longer Working in Pipeline Designer

Hi all,

I’ve been using Snowflake connections in Pipeline Designer with Key Pair Authentication configured via an encrypted .p8 private key file content - running with Cloud Engine for Design Engine.

Everything was working fine last week, but today I noticed that all my connections using this method are failing — even across different .p8 file contents and Snowflake accounts. The issue seems to affect any setup using an encrypted private key.

To rule out a key issue, I tested the same .p8 files and passwords in Qlik Cloud, and they work perfectly there. This leads me to believe that something may have changed recently in Talend Cloud or Pipeline Designer that’s breaking support for this authentication method.

  • Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
  • Is this a known bug?
  • Has support for encrypted .p8 files changed?
  • Is there a recommended workaround?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mark Costa
