Talend 6.0 Retrieve Schema

Hello,

I am facing issue while  clicking on Retrieve schema from metadata option using access DB in Talend 6.0

New views which are created in access database are not showing in Retrieve Schema therefore its difficult to add those views in Talend Job.

Hi Sanjoy,

I take it you followed some instructions like these (https://help.talend.com/reader/NCvLSgL85zqYq7YwX3T3jQ/mJhFJfBD9OObclJX6d~~XQ)? Did you tick the TABLE, VIEW and SYNONYM tick boxes?

Regards

Richard

Hello Richard,

Thank you for your response.

I have done the same way, the way its being mentioned in the link. But I am not able to get the newly created view.
I am attaching you the screenshot. Please kindly look into this. I am using Talend 6.0 version and access database.

Thanks & Regards

Are there ANY differences between R_Transform and R_Transform_CalculDate? Look at things like the permissions on the user you use to view the views/tables in Access and the user used for Talend (if they are different users).

Also, I am assuming the views have been created before you open the connection to the Access database within Talend?

Hello Richard,

Yes I am getting error of user permission. But I am able to see the view R_transform_CalculDate and R_TRANSFORM_FORMATDATE_LENGHT
under view schema in Talend so why I am getting this error 'user lacks privilage or object not found'. And when I am trying to
retrieve the schema of those then also I am not able to do as its not showing in the list of schemas.
R_tansform and R_transform_CalculDate are different view.
I am attaching the screenshot of error. How will I get to know what is the user of these views in Talend?

Thanks for looking into my issue.

Best Regards
Sanjoy

R_Transform_FormatDate_Length appears to be owned by the Admin user. Are you retrieving the schema in Talend with the Admin user? When you create your metadata connection to the Access database, that user must have access to the tables/views

Hello Richard,

Thank you so much for the help. Can please tell me the below query->

How will I check that when I retrieve schema it has admin user or not in Talend? From where I can check this?

When you create your Access DB connection in Talend, you use a username and password. The username must have permissions to see everything you want to retrieve from the database.

Hello Richard,

I have all access to retrieve data from access database as the connection done with Talend are old and earlier its used to work on Talend version 5.6.1 but after change the version of Talend 5.6.1 to Talend 6.0, I am not able to retrieve the schema where as that view R_TRANSFORM_FORMATDATE_LENGHT is showing in the list of view schema but when I am trying to access this view from job its giving me error of user lacks privilage or object not found.

I have already shared you the screenshot of those images in my earlier post.

Thanks & Regards

So you are using exactly the same credentials as you were using with the v5.6.1? It worked in v5.6.1? Now with v6.0, it is no longer working? Have you tried a subsequent version of Talend? v7.1.1 is stable release which is currently available.
