Compare a date to the current date

Hello,
I would like to compare a date in a string to the current date
I have tried:
TalendDate.parseDate("dd-MM-yyyy",row31.QTEFDT ) >TalendDate.getCurrentDate()

but it does not work
I have an error a about the '>' operator

What is the good solution?
