How to read Multiple Excel File from Different Folders

Hello All,

This is my first day with Talend, I came from Alteryx.

What I would like to ask is how can I read multiple excel files from different folders. Let me provide you with a screenshot of the folder structure.

The 3 steps shows all the files, and there are two other similar folders with similar structures named 01b Transactions Data, 01c Transactions Data

I need to read all files, including the sub directories.

Thank You.

Thank You.

The records are continuing in the files.

Hi
You can use tFileList all files under 01 data folder, check the 'Include subdirectories' box to includes all files in the sub directories.

Please try and let me know if you have any questions.

Regards
Shong

Dear Shong,

It does work, but let me give you the whole case here, I havent used Talend ever, I am coming from Alteryx and Knime, but its so unfamiliar without proper direction.

I have to learn, Read from multiple files, Joining Master Tables, and then more of others.

I can use the list, but I am clueless how to see output, or how to even browse the data and see if every record has been extracted.

Thank You.

Hi
For testing, you can print the data on the console to check if the data are extracted as expected. If you want to merge all data for used later for other transformation, such as aggregation, sort etc, you can use tUnite component.
