Hello
I have some data with names and addresses etc. I'm having trouble with some non english names. For example:
ARMANDO BAUTISTA GARCÍA
The data is given to me in excel format which I save as a .csv as the input file.
On the input file I have the encoding in advanced settings set to UTF-8.
I have also checked 'Allow specific characters (UTF8,...) for columns of schemas.
On the output file I have the encoding in advanced settings set to UTF-8 (also .csv)
But my output file is showing the name as this:
ARMANDO BAUTISTA GARCA - when I open it in excel
ARMANDO BAUTISTA GARCA - when I open it in notepad
I want the output to show the same as the input, i.e. to retain the character as it is :
ARMANDO BAUTISTA GARCÍA
Any idea where I'm going wrong? Attached some screen shots. TIA.
Hi JM39,
please, open your input csv file in notepad++ and paste here detected encoding. It's on the right-bottom side of application: Maybe it's not UTF-8 ?
Thanks for the reply. It definitely is UTF-8.
I managed to resolve this. I put a tChangeFileEncoding before my main job and that seemed to work
