Is JDBC needed to connect Hive and Pig from Talend

I need to connect Hive and Pig by using Talend. Could you please let me know whether I have to use JDBC for the connection?. (I am new to Big Data components). If I need to install JDBC, please help me.

Hi,

When you use hive by default it will ask to install related external jars if not available.

please click on install and it will install all related jars for you.

Hi,

Just to curious on the connectivity, could you please let me know what kind of connectivity required to connect Hive is it by JDBC or any other connectivity?

In my project, Hive is installed in external server and Talend installed on our server.

Hope no other settings needed to connect the Hive from a different server.
