Scheduling job

Hi,

I want to schedule around 100 jobs built in Talend. It should run on a daily basis. Kindly help me through this. Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Hi @sowmi333

The scheduling depends on the product you are using. If you are using Open source version, you will have to schedule them using third party schedulers like Unix crontab.

https://www.tutorialspoint.com/unix_commands/crontab.htm

If you are using on-premise version of Talend, TAC will come for your rescue and you can schedule them by following the steps mentioned in below link.

If you are already into Talend Cloud Product, please follow the below link since you will be using TMC instead of TAC.

Hi @nthampi ,

Thanks, for the help. I have gone through the link. I have a few doubts about that.

1. Should the jobs be entered manually one by one?

2. In add triggers, It is asking for start time and end time. If I want to run it daily how to give that?

Thanks,

Sowmiya R

Hi Sowmiya,

I guess you are using Metaservlet method. In this case, you will have to give the entry of the job through some method else how will it know which job to be triggered?

If you are using CICD method of Talend deployment, you can automate lot of things by using custom scripts. If you are new to this area, I would advise to first convert to Metaservlet method and once you are confident, create custom scripts from Jenkins.

Coming to repeating the same trigger, you can add the end date to a future date (say 50 years from now) and repeatInterval as 1440 (60*24 hours). This will make sure that the job is triggered only once per day.
