We are migrating from 6.4 to 7.3 Talend big data platform.
The talend UI to develop a job in 7.3 is very slow. Selecting a component and switching to another components is very slow . It is taking 1 min every time .
We have faced this issue in 6.4 as well and restart Talend studio to fix this . Restarting the studio every time does not make any sense.
Hi have a question : How many components do you have in your job ? Cause if you have a lot of components in your job it can lead to a slow utilisation of the studio issue.
as soon as you add a lot of components in same job it will start lagging and becomes so slow even to show details of each component you have to wait like 2 seconds ,also when you run the job it loads for around 8 seconds ;
one trick is to start using TRunJob component and start building mini-jobs to run them from big job , i jsut start learning that myself this week , easy not hard and you will learn fast how to pass params to mini jobs and get output values from mini jobs its all linked to context variables. if you need any help about this topic tell me 😉
Do you use the enterprise edition or the open studio? Typically the enterprise studio is a bit slower because a lot of checks it performs. If the enterprise studio is to slow, please do not hesitate and contact the support!
I am using enterprise edition of talend. I am facing this issue intermittently . This issue applies to all jobs . It doesn't matter how many components. I will come back if a work around or solution works for me.
The low performance sometimes is due to the network and Anti-virus software can conflict with Job performance.
Try to Whitelist all Talend products, and ports they use, in the anti-virus software. and add an exception for scanning .jar or inside .jar files on the anti-virus software to prevent performance issues.
