I am unable to create Excel file metadata while importing the excrel file i am able to see the preview in the step 2 with proper Data. But in step 3 the refresh preview is not showing up any data and header is also missing.

Are you using excel 2007 or 2013? Where was your xml file originally created? Does this issue repro on a specific excel file? Have you tried to use another excel file to see if it works well?
The excel file is created in 2013 format and the file extinction is .xlsx. We have checked importing another sample excel file but same issue. kindly assist.

I can't reproduce the issue with v7.2.1 on Windows 10, take a look at the log file and check if it generates any errors when you click the Review Data button, the log file is located in <studio installation folder>/workspace/.metadata.
