tDBFInput not availble in Palette

I've tried installing the tDBFInput component through the Talend Exchange/Ecosystem and the file is in position:
C:\Talend-TOS\TOS-All-r67267-V4.2.3\plugins\org.talend.designer.components.ecosystem_4.2.3.r67267\component\tDBFInput
And it is showing up as installed under the TalendForge tab.
But it doesn't show up in the Palette under Databases as it should. Also not showing when searched for.
Is this a component problem or do I need to manually change something to make the component available?

hi
Please read this kb article to know how to install a custom component.
http://talend.mindtouch.us/001_Knowledge_Base/Data_Integration/Installing_a_custom_component
Let me know if you still have trouble.

Thanks, Shong
But this is history repeating.
Previously I had some trouble installing a component manually, and you gave me a link into Midas.
But I can't log in! And that is still not solved 😞
This time the installation was not manual, but from within ToS and the TalendForge tab.
Any hints from that "protected" Midas page?

Shong,
I don't have permissions on Mindtouch.
Can I get permissions, or can you provide the info from http://talend.mindtouch.us/001_Knowledge_Base/Data_Integration/Installing_a_custom_component in any other way? (here or email).

hi
As my suggested, try to install manually custom components into Talend Studio. This KB article shows how to install custom component manually.
About the permission issue of mindtouch, there was a bug now, some of community users are not migrated completely, our IT is working on this issue.

I managed to solve the installation.
- I've tried to install tDBFInput from the in-app exchange. Which didn't work.
- I then tried to install the "brother component" tDBFOutput, and it installed itself nicely.
- so I removed the tDBFInput
- Downloaded the component from https://community.talend.com/t5/Archive/discussion-databases-action-on-data-quot-ignore-or-replace-q...
- extracted and put the folder in my Custom Components folder.
- restarted: worked.
-> is there anything wrong with the files installed through the in-app exchange tab?

Midas: ok. Looking forward to their work 🙂

Hi
There might be a bug on exchange tab. I never use exchange tab to install custom component, because exchange tab only display the compatible components, not all the full components shared on Talend Exchange.

Hi,
I'm the developer of the original tDBFInput and tDBFOutput components.
The first one in versione 2.0, with several bugs fixed, should be out at the Talend Marketplace within hours, for other, v.1 is fase out and available at gumroad/heisenbug and version 2.0 is still in the refactoring step and should be out at Talend Marketplace in a couple of weeks.
