Qlik Sense does not need a user directory. A user directory is a method for bringing in attribute information about users into Qlik Sense (https://youtu.be/h5nBdt969XI?t=244) which can be leveraged into rules. This allows organizations to leverage existing identity information about the user (e.g. UserA is a member of DL-US-Finance) to be able to use security and license rules to dynamically allocate licenses and access.
I have read your post document and also API document. I guess the purpose of directory is distinct different users. Like some users import from excel from System1 and some users import from other part System2.
