Creating a Chart

How do I create a chart with a selection dropdown to select a product and plot its value over the months as some chart (eg. Bar chart)

Y-axis : value (eg. quantity sold)
X-axis :month

Not sure if adding filter object for "Product" is an option here. This would enable user to make selection from list of Product and accordingly chart would be adjusted.
