 HOW TO FIND DISTINCT VALUES WITHOUT USING  DISTINCT FINCTION ?

It really depends on the scenario, but I'll try to give you a few pointers.

In script? Read up on the following topics.

• GROUP BY
• For each ... in fieldvaluelist()

In frontend? Read up on aggr() or just use a selection box to display each value distinct.
