I'm not sure what you mean, you've reference GeomakePoint so you obviously know what that is, but where do you want to extract the location data from? Are you trying to export the data from a map in Qlik Sense?

Hi Rodj,

Actually I am using locations as latitude and longitude as point background in map chart. So, is there any way to get location names automatically in area map or I need to add data manually for locations in 'Data Load Editor'.

Thanks,

Ishan

Hi Ishan,

It depends a bit on what you are after. You can reverse geocode to the nearest address if you have a license for Qlik Geoanalytics and a GeoCode license. With Geoanalytics you get access to lots of source data that could give you area names, such as zip codes, cities etc.. Without geoanalytics you'll need to add the data yourself to provide the areas (geopolygons) you want.

My memory is a little hazy on that, but hopefully someone will jump in to correct me if I've mis-remembered.

Cheers,

Rod

I should also add that basic Qlik Sense also knows about some geometries, such as city locations and states / territories, countries and so on. All you need to do is load the names and if recognised Qlik Sense will load the appropriate point or area. That might be enough to give you what you need.
