Group Dates

I am trying to group dates in a bar chart to compare Month by month against last year so they order in; Jan 21, Jan 22 Feb 21 Feb 22 etc. My date field that I'm using is formatted in dd/mm/yyy so i've formatted it using Monthsname to get the format change. How am I able to group my dates like this, additionally how can colour opposing years? All 2021 blue and all 2022 brown.

You could sort it via custom sort - Month(Date) - and also enable numeric sort to take care of the years (or you could do something like Month(Date) * 10000 + Year(Date))

Either Use Two dimensions 

1st Month 

2nd Year 

And one measure

Or 

Use one Dimension 

Month 

And two measures 

Measure for 2021

Measure for 2022
