Hello,
Exporting a Table object as data with Table formatting enabled can cause formatting metadata to appear in the output Excel cells when the Representation for the source field is Link and the Link Setting is "Add URL" but no Link URL value is available for certain cells. Those cells end up with values like: {"text":"ABC-123-456"}
I understand that what is happening here is that Qlik is telling Excel "for this particular cell, format as text, not hyperlink".
Exporting without table formatting clears up the issue, but of course clients insist on exporting with table formatting.
Is there a "trick" that will force Excel to obey (not display) the "text" metadata?
Is Qlik doing the correct thing here? Is the metadata being provided correct?
Or is the problem an Excel issue more than it is a Qlik issue?
Regards,
Steven
Hi @stascher,
Just to make sure I understand your question correctly, I need to know:
1. What type of object are you using (pivot table, table)?
2. Do the URLs contain links, but when you export the data to Excel, the links are missing?
If you can attach some concrete examples, that would be even better (e.g., I have a link in this cell, and when I export the file from here and select this option, this part doesn’t work for me).
This way, I can try to help you figure out if there's a workaround.
Thank you
