Nprinting Excel Report - Sort by Column

Hi,

I have a report in nprinting excel. I developed for it a table in qliksense. I need to sort the report by certain column in descending order. But when I right click on the cell and do sort by A->Z, nothing changes. Please advise.

Qlik NPrinting

Thanks

Hi,

We have very few information to understand the issue. In any case, if you mean pressing the ordering button in Excel after the report is generated it is a matter of Excel. The reports generated by Qlik NPrinting are native Microsoft Office files. Check the type of data in the generated report, maybe it depends on it.

The order can be changed in the source Qlik app.

I hope this helps or add some more details.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi Inna,

NPrinting follows the sort order from the Qlik Sense object, so sorting the Excel cell won’t change the generated report.

Set the column sorting in the Qlik Sense table (Chart properties → Sorting → choose the field → Descending), then regenerate the NPrinting report.

Thanks.

Hi,

actually I tried all these and it did not work:(

Finally, I kept sources and inserted a table. So the sort worked. But the issue is that all cells are not aligned even they are aligned in qlik and I kept sources. Every cell is to the right or left while all are centered in qlik.

Hi,

Keep source format does its best to keep the formatting options from the original app but it could not be perfect. If the output format is not the one you want you could remove it and apply the Excel formatting features to the template including the characters alignment.

Hi, that's correct, but the issue is that I have there one colored column which gets font colors i qlik and by which I need to sort, so when I do unkeep sources and do the Excel template the column gets damaged and I needed to do conditional format , which finally does not allow somehow to sort the column so I had to get back to Keep Sources and now can't get cells aligned:(

I'm facing a similar requirement. I was hoping the Excel template could control the sort order, but it seems the data has to be sorted in the Qlik object before NPrinting generates the report. Has anyone found a different approach without changing the source object?

Hi,

Yeas, keep source format allows you to customize the cell formatting but doesn't affects the sorting orders. Data are exported from the app and inserted in the report so I think the only solution is to order them in the source app.
