It should be straight forward. You can create a connection the same way on the server even without QMC:
1- Create a new app, give it a name.
2- Open "Data Load Editor".
3- On the right side, click on "Create new connection" and select "Folder" under "File locations".
4- Navigate to the location of the QVDs and select the file as the location.
Note: If the QVDs are on a different machine or a server, enter the following "\\IPaddress\c$" in the address box then continue to navigate to the QVD file location. Once the location is set, give the connection a name in the text box at the bottom and click create.
