I'm looking for a definitive answer as to the impact of using containers on the system.
I'd always assumed that if you had two totally different line graphs in a container then the page would only load the data and calculate what was necessary for the visible graph. The data necessary for the second graph wouldn't be used (and therefore the page would load faster than having both graphs) until the container was swapped to look at the second graph.
A colleague was investigating this today and came across the link below in which someone states that every object in a container will be calculated regardless of whether it is visible or not. As the post was about QlikView (and I'm using QlikSense) and from 2014 I was hoping this isn't the case any longer.

Is this the same whether you use a Show Condition for each tab? Would this be true of hiding columns in tables.
If this is correct then it would seem like using variables to change the dimensions, measures and set analysis of a chart would be a way to reduce the load time on sheets that are taking too long to load.
Hello,
In general, the memory and inline process will calculate all the metadata with expressions that you defined in all charts/objects irrespective of master visualizations that is not used in sheets.
To understand more in detail, I would ask you to check using some tools (QSDA Pro) is really good to start with.
