Search for specific records in set analysis

Hi All,

I'm pretty new to Qlik. I've had a look at other threads but couldn't find the answer to what I'm trying to do so appreciate your help!

In my data, I have some records with the same RecordID. (The unique ID is rowNum field in case you're wondering)

I need to create a new FieldNew (At this point I think I need to do it in the loadscript but let me know otherwise.). The data in this FieldNew comes from below.

I need to check if FieldB='1' and FieldC='2', and if so, I need to get the RecordID (calling this "first record") and find the other record with the same RecordID where  FieldB='2' and FieldC='5', and then get FieldA data for this record and put it in the FieldNew for the "first record".

Else if FieldB='1' and FieldC='2' is not correct, I'd simply put FieldA as FieldNew.

I hope I have explained it well enough. Thanks!

I can't post all my code due to confidential information.

Problem is, I don't want to change the code and drop the table in there or change the table name in all the load script files. If I change the name of my main table, I will have to change it in all my other load script (different load scripts) and that's not what I want. Do you know of a way to just join it with the INPUT table and not add a new RESULT table? Thanks for your help!

You might be able to JOIN the table back to your MAIN table, similar to your code above. But you need to resolve why you only got NULL values in that column.

You don't need to post any confidential information, but you should be able to create and upload a sample code / QVF file that replicates your setting.

I've done with my above code. This is working, isn't it?

If it's not working with your code, we need to look into what the differences are.

But if you can't  provide the information I need to help you, I think I can't help you with this issue anymore.

In general, labelling tables, JOIN'ing  tables or not joining them and using another RESIDENT LOAD or a preceding LOAD instead are quite basic topics that are covered well in the free tuturials for QlikSense and QlikView. I would suggest that you go through these free tutorials, the time spent is paid back very soon.

Regards,

Stefan
