Search in straight table with filter pane | Qlik Sense

Hello there,

I'm having a problem with my visualization. I have a straight table that contains item name and its stock. I also have a filter pane by stores.

When i choose a store in the filter pane and i try to search for a specific item name, that store doesn't have that item in stock. Rather than showing that there is no item in that store, the search overrides the filter pane and search for that item thats in stock in another store ignoring the filter pane.

How can i resolve this matter so that the search doesn't ignore the filter pane?

What you describe is core Qlik Sense behaviour.  As long you select among values that are associated with each other the earlier selections are preserved,  but if you select that is strictly excluded by not beeing associating with your current selection, then Qlik will release some of the conflicted selections.

To prevent a selection on the field Store from getting cancelled you can decide to lock the selection of that field,  making it impossible to select items that are not in stock.

Another method to prevent these conflicting selections is to look at the color of the stock item when making the selection. By looking at the color you can determine if the item is associated or not, green/white = yes, gray=no.
