Showing Dates Chosen

Is there a way to show on Qlik the dates selected on the sheet?  such as below: 

tried doing something like this on a KPI chart:

 Any ideas?

Date(Min(batch_date)) & '-' & Date(Max(batch_date))

You probably pasted the expression into the format pattern. Don't. Use it as expression instead - the control at the top.
