Hi,
We have a Terminal Server, that users use for corporate software, everything from Office to QlikView 11. The Qlik Sense installation says its unsupported. Its on Windows Server 2008 R2.
I've not been able to find out more than its seems not to be supported on Server OS? If that's right, Sense is going to a have tough time getting installed in the enterprise, I know that the Server installation so meant to be the solution, but still I think It should be possible to run the desktop on Citrix or Terminal Servers.
First I've seen or heard of reference to a QlikSense "Test License". Can you explain this more? Does it also require tokens? Does it have developer count limitation?
Your comment about the tokens thus increases cost and also incurs a greater cost since when those tokens get converted to Login Access will likely not all be consumed in some environments.
Hi Brian,
For test environments test tokens are required. Customer can purchase a specific number of tokens or purchase a 'test site' which will match the quantity of production tokens (including future purchases). I can put in touch with our sales organization if you'd like to discuss details.
I hear you that free is less expensive than paid and agree there is always the possibility that software licences will go unused. However, I believe the token model in Qlik Sense provided greater flexibility than having traditional model with specific 'developer' and 'consumer' license. The reasons I say that is because typically when development effort are at their maximum, business use will be at a low point. As the development winds down the business use will pick up. Therefore license use can be transferred from developers to business user and if required the access type (user or login) can be changed as well.
Anyway, no licensing model is perfect for every situation. We always strieve to partner with our customer to finds solutions that work for everyone.
