I appear to be getting this error when I'm trying to load a .xlsx file, this error appears when using both the load editor and the data manager.
Hi Truffler - is this something you can share as an attachment so I can try locally on my environment? If not - do you have a similar one without sensitive data? - Have you tried another type of excel file? Please see my attached Excel file and let me know if it works for you - I am suspect about the format and we may need to research this more.

Hi Mike,
Unfortunately I am unable to share the document with you as it contains sensitive data. I can load other .xlsx files however there seems to be an issue with this file. I've just tried converting to a csv file and that seems to work, but then I have to save each sheet in my workbook as a separate csv file (which I don't really want to do).
I had the same problem and following worked for me:
Open the .xslx file, edit something and save it again as a .xslx
Somehow this worked for me.
BR,
Thanks BR - I will take this to R&D and see if they are aware of what might be causing it. If I hear something I will let you know. If I can be of further assistance please let me know.

I've seen this problem before and as @Hauri suggested, opening and saving the file will fix the problem. My experience is that the problem stems from some system generating the xlsx using an API, and the file is not quite complete enough for the interface that Qlik uses.
