Hi everyone,
I’m new to Qlik Sense and currently exploring different ways people learn and apply it for real-world use cases.
I often see two approaches:
Learning through guided explanations (understanding data models, expressions, and logic step by step)
Using pre-built apps or ready-made solutions to get quick results
From a learning perspective, I’m curious:
Does relying too much on ready-made apps slow down long-term understanding?
How do experienced users balance guidance versus pre-built resources?
What approach helped you most when you were starting out?
I’d really appreciate insights from the community on what worked best for you while learning Qlik Sense effectively.
Thanks in advance!
It depends on the specific aim and the environment which of the ways might be more suitable. If n people/teams are dividing the n tasks of an environment maybe even in a first/second/third-level structure the ready-made solutions approach could be a quite efficient way to integrate new staff and make them productive.
But if someone needs to identify the challenges behind the given requirements and finding and implementing the solutions itself it needs a deeper understanding of the matter. In this regard is a guided learning with many own made mistakes necessary to get the needed expert-level.
Or in other words: you could jump into the water with a swimming ring and a life jacket but you will never learn to swim ...
