Hi
I am planning to upgrade my qliksense from May 2021 May 2023 so need to confirm few below things:
1) Do I need to stop all the services before upgrading it or need to exclude any specific service to keep it running during whole upgrade process.
2) Can I directly upgrade from may 2021 to Aug 23 or I need to first upgrade to any between version?
Any additional precausions to be taken please spe
Kindly assist.
Regards,
Mahamed
HI @Nyharindra,
Where in documentation it says that you have to uninstall patches? I have never come across anything like that before. If it is not why did you do whole 7 points from your above post of uninstalling patches?
just provide us with link from help site which told you to do those steps so we can have it for reference.
Thanks
Nowhere in documention but as I said, it's an experience feedback 🙂 since in the first attempt I did the same upgrade, I had an issue in which the patch was not uninstalled properly by the setup process causing upgrade failure.
That's why I decided to remove the patch first separately then did the upgrade after that.
And I still mention, this is my own experience I share (may help or not anyone, can be considered or not also but shared). May be Qlik sense has his bible of documentation but users have their own experience when facing issue using the app 😉
Ok understand - thanks for clarification.
Typically issues when something is not working is due to steps being taken not according to the steps from help site which is why I always strongly suggest to follow those steps and which is why i asked why you have manually run uninstall of patches.
It is very important to clarify for others why you have done uninstall of patches manually as many will think that is the "proper way" of doing upgrade each and every time which isn't true. Your clarification regarding issues which you had with installer not removing patches when running it is very important as it gives different context to steps you have taken, so thanks for clarification.
