Hi,

For your first point:

1. Create a bar chart, turn it clockwise
2. Dimension: Item
3. Measure: Sum(Quantity)

For your second point:

1. Create bar chart
2. Dimension: Item
3. Dimension: Month(Date)
4. Measure: Sum(Quantity)

Add a filter pane with the dimension: Year(Date)

This way users can select which year they want to see.
