This is straight from the Release Notes of QlikView 10:
Upgrading From QlikView 9
When having IIS and updating from Version 9 to Version 10 the QlikView virtual folders (QlikView, QVAnalyzer, QVAjaxZfc, QVClients, QvPlugin, QVJava and QVPlugin) must either be manually deleted after un-installation or changed to point to the new folders (QlikView, QlikViewDesktop, QVAjaxZfc, QvClients and QvPlugin) after the upgrade is done.
---
Having said that, I recommend going through the Release Notes, although an Upgrade from Version 9 to Version 10 is fairly straightforward. To make sure that no unnecessary settings are carried over, backup and remove the AppData / Documents and Settings folder for QlikView 9 (except the Publisher folder with the QVPR), as well as the Registry Entries after uninstalling the previous version. Then install QlikView 10 ontop of that. For the IIS settings look at the instructions above.

Dear Sonja,
Thanks for your reply .. i will check the release notes .. other question:
when installing QV10, it possible to choose between IIS and WebServer. Do i need to install QV10 with the Qlikview Webservice or with IIS? after install i can manually change the url of the webservice from QV webservice to IIS
i'm a bit afraid that if i choose IIS during installation that the virtual dirs will be overwritten.
Hi Amien
Qv 10 Instillation have a flexibility to choose between IIs web server and qlikview web server.
You can choose any one on them based on your requirement.
Hope that Helps.

yes, i know, but what do i choose if IIS is allready install and configured for QV? this because i'm upgrading. Do i still choose IIS installation? because i can imagine that virtual pools are created again/overwritten. So perhaps its better to install QV10 using QV Webservice and manual change the url of the Webservice into the IIS url in QEMC
Hi Amien
You can delete virtual folders as mentioned in the release notes. And point to IIS webserver.
Or else you can even install qlikview using qlikview webserver and can later redirect it to folder for allpication pool in IIs.
Both way will work.
Before migrating just go through the release notes once.
I would suggest you to uninstall qlikview V 9 first after taking proper backups and then remove all the entries for qlikview from Registry.
Then install V10. It will avoid lots of issue which all others are facing like Licensing and all.
Also You can wait till tomorrow. As Qlikview V 10 SR2 is going to release tomorrow.
Hope that Helps

"Or else you can even install qlikview using qlikview webserver and can later redirect it to folder for allpication pool in IIs."
are you sure? because the names of the virtual dirs are slidely different in V9 compared to V10 .. and i cannot rename the virtual dir names in IIS
