We upgraded Qlikview server to version 12 weeks ago. Before performing upgrade, we backed up the FUL.dat file. At that time I noticed some strange thing about this file. It is only 1K size and the ‘Date modified’ is ‘9/16/2015’. This is obvious very strange because the assigned CAL list on this server is updated at least on monthly bases (if not weekly bases). And we have around 50 assigned CALs on this server. I checked another Qlikview server and the FUL.dat file there looked good. ‘Date modified’ is a date 7 days before upgrade and size is about 54 K.
We continued our upgrade process. As one of the last steps, we moved FUL.dat back to its location. But when we opened Management Console, we found the assigned CAL section is empty. All previous users are gone. We ended up having to manually re-assign CALs. After this, ‘Date modified’ of FUL.dat was still the same (‘9/16/2015’).
This issue didn’t become a concern until now. We might need to update our server license in the next couple of weeks. We don’t want to manually assign user again.
Does anybody met this situation before? How to fix it?
