Hi,

You will find audit logs in programdata/Qliktech/qlikviewserver  folder.

So, for examlple if your system drive is C drive then you will find it at

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer

go to this location and you will find a text file named as AUDIT_****

this is your Audit logs file.

This log file contains all the actions(every single query/selections also) audited. for example if you select any data in any field then that action will be logged there as this particular user selected this value in this field.

So, you can track/audit every single qlikview user

Hope it makes sense. Let me know, if you need further information

HiAshutosh

I am not able to find AUDIT_**** at the desired location.

Any other way? Did AUDIT log required any setting on the server?

Hi Anta,

Yes, you will need to enable the audit logging. To enable audit logging go to your Qlikview Enterprise Management Console (if you are using version 10 or earlier), and in Qlikview Management Console (If you are using Version 11) and in that console go to System tab, then setup, then inside Management service go to Qlikview servers, select the server name you see and go to logging tab and click Enable Audit logging.

Restart your Qlikview Server Service and then you will see the Audit text file in the said location earlier.

Let me know, if you need any clarification.

Hi Ashutosh

Is it necessary to restart the services after changes have been made?

Hi Anta,

No, basically you don't need to restart the services. Just enable it and wait for a minute, then you will see the audit file generated itself without restarting the service.

Also, you may need to do some action which triggers audit. Such as open a document thorough access point.

Hi Ashutosh

any estimate how much information there will be in these logs and how much disk space will be required for this e.g. monthly, yearly? will this have any affect on the performance?
