A few days'm trying to install Qlikview Server on Windows 2008 R2 without success.
I'm using:
A clean installation of Windows Server 2008 R2;
All Windows Updates;
Dotnet Framework 4.5;
I install Qlikview Server 11 and all services start up, but in the service management console appears qvs down.
The user is running Qlikview Administrators group;
The firewall is turned off;
I tried using localhost and the number of ip;
Already tested versions 10 and 9.
Nothing solved the problem.
I formatted the machine, installed. dotnet framework 4.5 and installed the latest version of QlikView Server (11.11282.0).
Do not put the machine in the domain, and started the service as Administrator.
So it was possible to insert the license.
Then, I joined the machine in the domain and ran the services with the user qlikview@domain.
Now everything worked, but I do not know what was causing the problem.
Have you entered a valid QlikView license?
Fields to inform the license are disabled because the qvs service is down.
Are services running under an administrator account? Do you get any errors in the events.log file?
There is a user in the domain named Qlikview. This user is part of administrators group of the machine QV01. The services are executed with the user qlikview@domain.
The QlikView Managentment Service reports "Failed to retrieve settings from QlikView Server".
Did you had a QlikView 9 install? make sure you remove registry entries
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\QlikTech\QlikViewServer\Settings 7
Also, stop services and remove folder c:\programdata\qliktech
I tried version 9.
Now I'm trying to install version 10.
The server was formatted all times.
Can you check if you have any log files in
C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer
Specially the events*.log
In the folder C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer there is no file *.log. I need to enable logging somewhere?
No, if there is no log there it's probably because QlikView Server can't write to that location.
Can you check the windows event viewer for any errors after you start the service?
