Can someone explain the difference between the ‘Max number of simultaneous QlikView engines for distribution’ and ‘Max number of simultaneous QlikView engines for administration’ settings. I’ve read the manual and help but it doesn’t really explain it.
What do they mean by ‘send tasks to’ vs. ‘use for the management of tasks’?
----------------------------------
From QV 11 help:
Max Number of Simultaneous QlikView Engines for Distribution
To set the number of QVBs that the QDS can send tasks to simultaneously, enter the desired number in this text box.
Default value: 4.
Max Number of Simultaneous QlikView Engines for Administration
To set the number of simultaneous QVBs that the QDS can use for the management of tasks in the QMC, enter the desired number in this text box.
Default value: 20.
----------------------------------
Thanks in advance!
Been a while since I looked at it but If I don't remember wrong (please correct if so) is the Max Number of Simultaneous QlikView Engines for Administration only for when you working with setting up the tasks and it req a QVB for eg. when you set up a loop and reduce task.
If you push the "open document" under the distribution task will you spawn a new QVB process, that is only for administrate the setup of that task then exit. I´m fairly sure those QVB processes with not effect how many tasks you are able to run simultaneous.
Hi Trevor have you found any help about this, what is the really difference?
Regards!
I did not get this question answered. Sorry.
