Hi,
I have a straight chart, I want to export the data from chart to excel sheet using button object. how can I do that?
Don't. Enable the Send to Excel option on the Caption tab of the chart. Users can then click on the XL icon to send the chart to excel. No button needed.
hi sowmya,
If you want to export through button you need to write the Macro/Script.
Please find the below thread ..

Maybe a stupid question but...
As the "action" exists, why we cannot directly use it in a button ?
I know we have different opinions about the utility of it but, if we want to do a selection before the "send to Excel", the user have to click on two different buttons potentially in two different places. (Without speaking about the discretion of this special icon.)
We can write a macro, but why reinvent the wheel? The action exists and runs well, why don't permit to use it in a button?
The same for the export, it exists in button's actions, but not for excel file.
Why this difference?
Sorry to reopen the topic with this question, but you seem to be aware and open to the discussion. Everywhere I see different macro to do the same thing and I don't understand why qlik doesn't yet offer this possibility.
Thanks to your reply.
