An Error Occurred Access is denied

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to QS, but seasoned in QV.  I have migrated my first QS app to the cloud.  I am not using Section Access.  I have published it to a stream called Human Resources and have assigned my users to that stream.  When I open the app in the cloud I get the message "An Error Occurred - Access is denied".  I can click on the close button and proceed around the app.  It only happens on the first screen.  Any ideas what I might be missing?

Hi @tmumaw. Did you find a solution to this, please?

I started to face the same issue on June 2020 Patch 4. It only happens on those sheets where I use "Relative" modifier for a chart measure. I am currently invesigating it this only happens for Master measures or a measure created in the chart direcly.

Correction: it is not Relative modifier, it probably is custom tooltip. Or maybe a combination of the two:
- Bar chart with Relative modifier AND Custom tooltip results in Access Denied and chart is not rendered
- Scatter plot with Custom tooltip results in Access Denied as well, but the chart IS rendered

Looking at browser DevTools there is an API instruction sent to the Engine with SetProperties method, which causes the error. I have no idea why the instruction is sent.

Thanks.

So what helped in my case is a simple republish of the app, but for some reason I had to republish twice. First attempt fixed some objects, second attempt fixed the rest. It seems to me as if Qlik kept some flag wheter or not an object was changed and needs to be republished. So I went into edit mode, flipped through all the sheets, occasionally changing something and reverting the change back (so as to flag objects as "touched") and then republished the app.

Probably some app migration thingy, as the app was last published before I did an upgrade on the machine?
