There has been lots of discussions about deleting apps and not being able to duplicate the managed space app. Postings like this get the point across:
Qlik Sense SaaS - Duplicate/Export App from Manage... - Page 2 - Qlik Community - 1779701
Qlik has proposed work arounds: Qlik Cloud: Unpublish an app with the REST API (Po... - Page 2 - Qlik Community - 1761101 and is launching and export feature to help remedy the issue: Request | Feedback (qlik.com)
Is any of this going to keep user generated content and permissions? I'm taking about bookmarks and personal sheets. Will any of this enable overwriting the existing managed space app?
Is it also the case that only the original/parent app in the shared space is allowed to overwrite the managed space copy? If this is the case, does anyone have a development workflow that ensures the original copy is not accidentally deleted? This all seems crazy to me. Is this the situation with using the Qlik SaaS product?
Taking this further, Qlik has released an SDLC document, but I can't get the proposed workflow to work. I can't get a duplicated app to publish and replace as suggested in the document. Am I doing something wrong? Are certain permissions needed?
Navigating app development processes can indeed be complex. It seems like you're facing some challenges with duplicating and managing apps in Qlik Sense SaaS. Qlik's proposed workarounds and upcoming export feature sound promising, but ensuring user-generated content and permissions remain intact is crucial. For further insights and solutions, you might explore https://www.crispysoftwaresolutions.com/service/custom-app-development. Thank you Aiden. I believe the new app export feature solves our work flow issue. Thanks for your input.
