Hello, Gurus,
I have, but I think we all have or will have an issue with the new restriction on binary. On November 24, patch 7, Qlik forbids reading data from the automatically generated folder, which manages the created Qlik Sense Client Managed applications (\\<QlikSharedFolder>\Apps). They said this is a security vulnerability, but I can't find a solution for how to binary load data from another application.
I was trying to do this with the support team, but their solution is to export app into another folder, and then use load data with binary.
The nice thing is that Qlik still uses the old way in Qlik Cloud.
What is your opinion about that?
Regards, Dimitar
@henrikalmen I stand corrected. I was looking at the wrong folder.

Yes, you can, I know, but in the documentation, sad that it is not recommended, but it doesn't tell why.
OK, it is possible, but this is not a data model; this will be a data transformation and will need new free space to store the data.
There are a lot of solutions to make a workaround, but why is this needed?
Hello,
This is the reason Qlik to removing the functionality of binary load from file created and update from the system 🙂
------------------------
Engine needs to read and write to the Apps continuously. As Engine takes various locks on the file this can cause issues with the normal usage of the App.
Having a binary load reading from that very same folder can cause:
- Source App not opening for users
- Binary reload to lock the source App from being modified until reload is finished
- Binary reload to fail, due to changes to source App are made while reading the source App.
This improvement was done, as we have had lot of issues previously with customers complaining on file locks not releasing or changes not being applied on their apps, all this due to binary reloads reading from the Apps-folder.
---------------------------------------
We can't find a solution, and you have a binary; there is an issue, you don't have a binary, there is no issue.
Regards,
Dimitar
