Covert from string to date format

I have a date in the format 'Aug 2020' and I'm trying to get Qlikview to recognize it as a date format instead of a string so that I can extract the individual elements such as the month and year but unfortunately nothing I've tried is working

Date(Date#(strdate, 'MMM YYYY'))
