Embedded master visualizations are omitted when exporting a multi KPI to PDF

I have an issue where I have embedded master visualization in a multi KPI, as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTlAw9YSpWo&t=138s around the 2:18 mark. 

However, when I export that KPI to a PDF, the master visualization is omitted. Resulting in an empty spot where the graph should have been. It is even in the preview that this part is missing; and in the final PDF this part is missing too. 

What is happening here? Is this an undocumented feature? Or is this some export setting?
