I have over a dozen types of dates (5 different tables), the current modeling uses intrevalmatching for the 5 tables. Afterwards flags are being created when the original dates are equal to the reference date.
The thing is as time goes by more and more rows are added in the fact table (or bridge date table) since the interval is for each unique combination. We still need this process to create historical data that we don't have in the database, I tried to look up any way if you can combine the interval match with a condition. In my case if date is earlier than today's date minus 3 months than the interval should be on Month-Year.
