June 2018: Optimizing the Insight Advisor

Now that #QlikSense June 2018 has been released I am wondering if there are any data modeling techniques, naming conventions or other tricks that will optimize the results you can get from the Insight Advisor? I am eager to feed the Beast!!!

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris sorry for the delay - I just heard back from the PM

"We are adding a feature in Sept release to give developers the ability to hide specific fields from the user, so insight advisor focuses on those fields that the developers want it to. I can provide more details in a couple of weeks if you like."

So nothing as of yet - but more options coming soon.

When applicable please mark the appropriate replies as CORRECT. This will help community members and Qlik Employees know which discussions have already been addressed and have a possible known solution. Please mark threads as HELPFUL if the provided solution is helpful to the problem, but does not necessarily solve the indicated problem. You can mark multiple threads as HELPFUL if you feel additional info is useful to others.

To follow up on mto‌'s response, this is where you can find information on this feature: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/September2018/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/LoadData/hiding-fie...

Please note: This does not hide fields from only the Insight Advisor, but also from the Assets panel in Edit Mode. You can however see the fields in the Data Manager and the Data Load Editor.

Generated syntax, for the scripties out there:

TAG FIELD <field name> WITH '$hidden';
