Limit for qSelections

I am using the Qlik API to grab the current selection in a field. There seems to be an "unofficial" limit of around 50 without showing "xx of xxx" in qSelected. Would appreciate it if anyone could confirm or provide a workaround. See screenshot below.

This is despite me having this in settings.ini:

This post says Qlik confirmed its 50 and undocumented. Sorry, not sure of the workaround though..
