Link table

Hi,

Can anybody explain, why we create link table rather than directly linking it with Composite keys.

Hi.

  • link table must be used when possible, as it keeps your data model more understandable and creates less 'hassle' on the front-end
  • With the use of link tables, it’s possible to keep the fact tables separated from each other. The advantage of this solution   for choosing this method is to keep the data model a logical one.
  • To remove synthetic keys and circular reference as well
