Linking to a Sheet from outside of Sense

I am looking at integrating QlikSense into an existing Web-App.

Fundamentally, the existing app should link to a specific application in QlikSense - I can do this relatively simply to link to the main sheet.

However, I would like to pass a specific parameter to one of the Filter values, but cannot determine how to encode that into the URL:-

https://<server>/sense/app/<app ID>/sheet/<sheet ID>

How can I do this (If it is possible!)?
