Qlik Sense Document Analyzer V1.1 Released

Finally,  finally, a Qlik Sense version of my popular "QV Document Analyzer" tool is released. It is available for download here:

QS Document Analyzer http://qlikviewcookbook.com/recipes/download-info/qs-document-analyzer/

The tool is provided as a setup.exe that requires windows admin permissions as it installs a custom Qlik script connector.

There are limitations in this release documented in the release notes and the "Introduction" sheet on the qvf.

I'm looking for feedback in terms of problems you may encounter or suggestions.

Let me know how it works out for you!

Hi Rob,

This is great and thank you for your work.

May I ask how is the Object Calc calulated?

I analysed an app, made performance improvements to lessen the calc time and can see it loads up the charts much quicker than before when a sheet opens.

However when analyse this updated app and the same object where I made the performance improvement, the calc time doubles for the object even though it is quicker in load time on the screen and my code follows the best practises mentioned elsewhere?

Have an missed a step before loading the app in the analyser and getting these contradictory results?

Calc Time is calculated as the time it takes for the GenericObject.GetLayout() API call to complete.  How are you timing the performance when you look at it from the sheet?  Be aware that both the client and Document Analyzer will use the cached result when available.

I'm open to hearing that there is a flaw in my methodology.  Contact me via Qlikview Cookbook | Recipes for Qlikview Success contact form if you're willing to provide samples and discuss further.

Hi All,

If the target application is on a Qlik Sense Enterprise server does Qlik Sense Desktop need to be installed on that server or can it be installed locally?

Thanks,
Mark

Qlik Sense Desktop is required to be installed on a workstation, typically separate from the server.  QS Document Analyzer is installed on the workstation, and the target QS Enterprise Server and application are specified when configuring the connection on the desktop.

Hi All,

I am getting the error, 'The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure'.  Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

Thanks,
Mark

I have an open issue on the certificate validation problem.  But I have not yet resolved it.
