Qlik Sense Map problem

Hello All,

Currently i am facing a problem while plotting a map in Qlik sense.

For ex :  I have underlined data set

Area, Region, State

XYZ,EAST,FLORIDA

XYZ,WEST,TEXAS

ABC,NORTH,NEW YORK

ABC,SOUTH,NEW JERSEY

In the map we want to plot area and region as 'Area Layer' not as Point Layer.

But while we are trying to plot region/area in map dimension qlik is not able to understands its underlying value I think from its library and not able to plot the map.

But when taking state as Dimension in the map Qlik is able to plot the map as States are generic names and Qlik can recognize these names easily to plot the map.

Our objective is to show on the map at first layer only two Areas- XYZ,ABC

while drilling drown next layer will be Region- EAST/WEST/NORTH/SOUTH

How we can achieve this? please help.

Thanks,

Sayan

Hi Sayan,

If the Region is what you want to show, you can add the states to your map and color by Region to show the regions. To select a region you would need a filter pane to do that.

Thanks for your response. But the requirement is to select the Area, regions from the map itself. not from the filter.

If you have the GeoAnalytics add on, you can do geometric type operations, one of which is called Dissolve. This would allow you to create a Geographic area based on the data you already have loaded.  This would give you what you are looking for.
