Toggle Between Themes in App

Hi All,

I Have been looking for a way to toggle between themes in an Qlik Sense App once they have been published and live so a user could toggle between a light and dark mode theme, or toggle to a colour blind in mind theme?

Is this currently possible?

Thanks

Hi there,

I see no reason why this shouldn't be possible. This isn't a complete solution but it may point you in the right direction.

How to change the default theme and how to call another theme for a specific application

Example:

Your current app default page url looks like below:

http://localhost:4848/sense/app/Helpdesk%20Management.qvf/sheet/1ff88551-9c4d-41e0-b790-37f4c11d3df8/state/analysis/

Default theme is the light theme.

On landing page, have a text object with a hyperlink that will look like below

Hyperlink:

http://localhost:4848/sense/app/Helpdesk%20Management.qvf/sheet/1ff88551-9c4d-41e0-b790-37f4c11d3df8/state/analysis//theme/dark theme

You can make it look like this in the Text object.

"To change to Dark theme click HERE"

This will take the user to the page they are on, but then apply the Dark Theme. Even if users navigate through the app thereafter, the theme will stay applied but will only last for that session unfortunately.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

that is perfect, Its i was looking for a toggle button that would re-actively change the CSS on the page, but this solution will work just as well, Super happy with that 🙂  Thanks!

Does this work for any custom themes?

I ask because I followed these steps and when I select the URL the colors do change, but not to the theme I want and no matter what I put after the '/' it's always the same colors. Are there limitations to this method?
