Trend line for bar charts in QS

Hi all,

 

I've been having a hard time plotting the trend line of a bar chart using QS. Been searching the forums for any clues on how to use linest for dimensions that are non-numeric but can't seem to figure it out.  I was able to do something similar in QlikView before through the trend line functionality in charts.
